Pskov and Vladimir architecture

The world architecture, not only Russian, of the second half of the XIX century-the beginning of the XX century, as already mentioned, turned to the old styles, somewhere copying them, somewhere reworking them in a new way. Pskov and Vladimir architecture inspired the architect Shchusev when creating the Marfo-Mariinsky Monastery in Moscow. The architect Krichinsky in his white-stone Feodorovsky town in Tsarskoye Selo used the techniques of both Vladimir architecture of the XII century. - gates decorated with stone carvings, as well as decorative motifs of the XVI-XVII - diamond rust on the walls, carved decoration of platbands, porches. The same features are characteristic of the building of the Imperial Pavilion of the railway station in the same place in Tsarskoye Selo (architect V. Pokrovsky), the Loan Treasury in Nastasinsky Lane in Moscow (architects V. Pokrovsky and B. Nilus), the building of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of the State Bank (architect V. Pokrovsky), the Igumnov mansion on Bolshaya Ordynka (architect N. Pozdeev) in Moscow and other luxurious buildings of that time.
